sweet, mild pepper
Would like some suggestions for sweet, mild peppers that grow small, maybe in container, but produce well. I need the "easy, can't kill..lol" ones to begin with so I will have a good chance of success. I use them in salads, stuffing, pizza, sauerkraut, etc. I know mild is depending on your taste but want something I can eat without turning red, eyes watering, etc...lol And maybe one that I can pick, eat, fresh.. Thanks

Nothing beats a good old sweet banana pepper.
They always produce and you can get the plants almost anywhere. Nothing fancy or exotic but I have used this pepper in many ways. http://www.tomatogrowers.com/SWEET-B...ductinfo/9316/ Worth |

Jimmy Nardello does well in containers. It has no heat at all, very sweet pepper for frying or roasting.

Yummy Orange sweet pepper is very prolific and tasty. I grow it in 5 gallon containers, but it would probably be ok in a 3 gallon container.
http://www.chileplants.com/search.as...Button=Pressed Trinidad perfume is a beautiful pepper that is mild and has an interesting, but tasty flavor. I grow it in container, too, but it is a medium sized plant. http://www.chileplants.com/search.as...Button=Pressed |

I really liked Lunchbox red last year - productive, sweet and perfect for a 5 gallon container

Any of the pimentos would work well and most are small plants.
Sheepnose pimento Ashe County pimento Doe Hill Red Ruffled, etc. Lipstick Jimmy Nardello's is a good suggestion, too. Melrose is another sweet frying type on a small plant.

Tomato Growers Supply has most of the ones mentioned, and Southern Exposure Seed Exchange seems to have most of the rest.

Johnnys has a pretty good selection, they have a variety "Carman", a hybrid, that I grew a few years back that was really a hit. |

Thanks so much for the offer of Jimmy Nardello but got some seeds for it now. Another quick one....any suggestions of the really small peppers that are called "ornamental" that are good to eat? or edible ones that would have a small pepper...not hot..lol Trying to put edible plants in all flowering gardens so would be looking for interesting foliage also.
