Light Warrior has yellow blobs
Light Warrior.jpg
I have never seen yellow blobs in seed starting mix. It looks like the expandable foam insulation. There is also a dead moth. I am glad I did not use this bag, but I did another already. What is the stuff growing in the bag? Barb |

Looks like the beginning of yellow potting soil or house plant mushrooms.

Wow, pretty shrooms!
I know you think they are gross, but your plants would probably like them. I had great plants last year growing in soil that was largely moldy, half-rotten hay. The white fuzz is mycelium, and the yellow is the fruiting mushroom body. I couldn't see the mold I had under the black plastic, but I kept having giant mushrooms pop out the sides of the row. My plants were very healthy. I don't know of any fungal life that is detrimental. I always see it as a good sign. I think what you have is a very high-quality mix that is full of life. |

I used Light Warrior one year and was plagued with fungus gnats (in the house, my wife was NOT happy!). According to the manufacturer: "we don’t sterilize our soils because that would kill the very beneficial microbes which are critical in making nutrients available to plants. Your soil should be alive, not sterile!" I agree with them, their soil is alive, virtually teeming!
