Show Off Your Pepper Plaants

I start with the first one of ming.

3 varieties growing in a tub:

--- Chinese 5 color
--- Black Pearl
--- Numex Sunset

As you see C-5C is dominant but the other two have plenty of pods too.

Same here. Mine just went in the ground yesterday -- Shish-ito, Melrose, Aleppo, Feher Ozon, Calabrese, and Numex Big Jim. Scaled way back on peppers this year as I have bags of Da'Appendere, Leutschauer, and Cayenne all dried and shrink wrapped, and waiting to be crisped up and ground.

They've been outside for about three weeks now and have (hopefully) gotten used to our yo-yo temperatures. They were pretty root bound and a few already had flower buds on them. And starting Wednesday day-time temps will be warm enough that they should be pretty happy.

What you may not think about when you see blossoms and fruit developing, is that low temperatures experienced by the plant weeks before flower buds were visible, can also affect flowering and fruit set.

There's a 50-50 chance those first buds will drop, but at 48/49 degrees for nighttime lows and 70+ for daytime temps it won't get cold enough to do any lasting damage to the plants.

Though all peppers are edible but these ( especially Chinses 5C and black pearl are
ornamental. It is my floral pot next to my tomato patch.

Next I will post pictures of my other varieties, planted in the ground.
They must love this climate and my sandy soil. Never in the past I have had such healthy and productive pepper plants. I planted those in late March, that is about 2 months age

Peppers aren't nearly as susceptible to brief low temps as tomatoes seem to be. Besides, the soil temp is most important (barring a frost) and the soil should have had time to warm some by now.

I have two beds of pepper, in one sweet peppers in the second slightly hot peppers for conserve in a sweet-acid infusion. In the picture a bed with hot peppers.

That midnight-purple foliage of black pearl is killer, isn't it.

I like the combination of the Black Pearl with the 5C. Nice contrast.
My peppers are doing well enough. Lots of rain, so I'm getting leaf
spots on almost all of them. They are producing, so that's good.
