Very nice. I lost 8 Cherokee Purples to fruitworms*. Overall the plant had about 25-28 fruits so I'm really blown away by the productivity. I've subsequently picked 4 fruits including a 1 pounder. They are still my favorite tomato. Just overwhelming, sweet, smooth flavor.

*Be vigilant on the B.T. spray or powder!!

My homemade earthbox CP is 4 ft. tall and has at least 20 fruit on it. The one in the garden, which is growing slower has set about 2-3 fruit. They weren't planted at the same time. This is one good variety. It seems to do better for me each year. I really like the flavor also. It is a must grow every year for me.

well as you can see there are 2 CP plants in the box. There are around 9 on each plant. I was thinking that was kinda low compared to my one betterboy plant that has around 17 on it right now.

The first CP that ripened was a little green on top, but it was fairly soft. So I went ahead and ate it. I may have not let it ripen enough. The taste was smokey, but not too flavorful, almost watery.

Post a pic of the next one, I'm curious if the tomatoes I saw at Kroger are Cherokee purple.
