Default 2nd SETBACK: HEAVY, WET SNOW

Extreme gardening....
The last dump of snow was mild compared to this one. I had about 6-10 inches of snow in the yard. Needless to say that at 4:50 am I was so worried that something happened to the greenhouse heaters that I woke up and checked them. They were still on and everything looked okay.HOWEVER, my trees were bending under the weight. I returned at 5:30 to knock the snow off all my trees. Some had a coating of ice on thembut I think I only lost a few branches due to the wieght of the snow. My Swedish Columnar Aspens looked more like a weeping aspen!!!!
Jeff who is looking forward to some warm temperatures on the weekend!

Wow! I really miss the snows I used to get back in Chicago.

Send some of that down my way. Our high was 101 today!

Yup, I know that look. It reminds me of Minnesota while I was growing up.

Nice looking greenhouse.

Jeff, Which side of the city you live on?

I am hope things are better now, I have 350 plants in the ground and that kind of snow would kill me.

Things have perked up considerable. We have had a stretch of very warm weather 26-30C and my tomatoes in the greenhouse are just now starting to look like they should...no more locked up nutrients for me!!!(lol) I have finally planted and transplanted the rest of the garden (edamame- soy beans, eggplants, bush beans, Japanese long green onions, and the rest of the outdoor tomatoes).
I am north of Calgary.
350 plants...post some pictures of all those plants and, of course, later on the haul of ripe tomatoes.
Jeff
