Old EB Set up
I have the older version of EB. Didn't know they even had an older one, but the color is green. I have one unassembled box and the parts were all taken out. Neighbor shared what he didn't want. Not sure if I have all the short and long slots and the assembly process before putting soil on top of the whole thing. I have to use a sprinkler hose from my husband's business and it will work.
Can anyone describe how many short slots and long slots and how to play "tick tac toe" to get them correctly in place. I may have to fake it as best as I can to get my two eggplants in their "new home" today. Their top roots are popping out so they surely are ready for transplanting. Our growing season is short here. I didn't see any diagram at EB website however for this particular assembly. Amazing. Thanks all. carolg colorado |

Old EB
Hi,
I also have some of the older versions of the EB. The setup is: 2 long across with 4 short ones for the width. All the supports are cut out where they fit together. On top of this goes the plastic grid with the watering slot for the pipe where you want it. I put it either right or left of the overflow hole at the bottom. By flipping the plastic grid you can have it any corner. The new ones don't have all the pieces, just the grid and the bottom supports together as one. The newer ones seem a little smaller also. Hope these instructions are clear. PM me if you want and I will send a pic of one of the older ones that I didn't plant in this year. Sue |

Earthbox
The first pic shows the long and short pieces that go on the bottom. The second pic shows the grid on top of those pieces with the watering tube on the front right. I use Promix with some organic fertilizer- 3 cups mixed in plus lime. I believe you can get these directions from the EB website on how much lime/fertilizer to use per box etc. The soil is wet enough to hold it together to stuff it in the corners of the box. Then the rest can be added on top of the grid. You'll notice in the first pic that a chunk of the long bottom
piece on the bottom right is broken off. Sue |
