Giant Szegedi

Has anyone had experience with this variety?
Restarting a few more peppers and thinking of adding this one ....

I'm curious too. This is a mystery pepper for me. I grew it sometime prior to 2002 ( I had the peppers I had dried saved in a jar) but have no notes on the pepper or any record of where I got the seeds. ( my label does not include the giant part of the name)

I've grown it the last 3 years. Two plants in a large pot gives more than we could ever use in summer. We take the extras, put them in ziploc bags and keep 'em in the freezer. They come out fairly intact and we use them for flavoring in chili and the like.

They are sweet with a very good flavor. You can pick when they’re ivory, orange, or red. Seeds were from TGS.

Thanks for the info. DH went to town and I asked him to stop at a place that has a Seeds of Change display. If it is there, and if my husband gets the right one ( sometimes he decides another package looks better, etc.), I will plant it today.
It sounds great.

Mine didn't do very well

. I seemed to have a black thumb last year. I didn't try them in containers though and it was seed that I traded for so maybe I should try them again

Sorry to bring back such an old thread, but I am always looking for a pepper or tomato to grow in our cool foggy Northern California weather.

On some websites this is stated as doing well in cool climates and others says it need heat all of the time.....What is it?
