Default Earthboxes in a greenhouse?

Hello to all!

This year we are new to greenhouse gardening, we bought a little one 8X6 to grow veggies - mostly tomatoes for our 3 little boys. Last year we made the great earthboxes but many of our tomatoes were stolen or eaten by our backyard friends. So my questions are:

Is it a good idea to put earthboxes in a greenhouse?
What are the best/other veggies to grow in there?
What is a good veggie/herb to plant in the same tomato container?
When is it too hot/cold for tomatoes?

We have enjoyed all the wonderful advice on these boards! My little ones are so excited to start growing tomatoes in the "Tomato House" Thank you all!

Absolutely you can grow tomatoes in EB in a GH. Just make sure you have enough heat when it is cold and enough ventilation when it gets warm. You should do fine. You might want to move them out of there in the very heat of the summer or you could have some trouble with blossom drop, but overall you should do good. Dang those critters, eh?

If I could plant tomatoes any way I wanted, it would be in a green house, all planted in containers. I could produce a more stable environment that way, and increase my growing season at least 6 weeks.

Give it a try!

Thanks Don,
Since it is a little greenhouse, I hope to plant something else along with the tomatoes. What do you think? What grows well along with tomatoes in a container. I'll be using three 18 gallon EBs.

Kendra, I have a small 16 x 8 GH that I have a lot of success with growing peppers in containers in the summer. They love the heat and even if they dry out a bit aren't adversely affected. Herbs grow great too! I've even grown bush cucumbers in there with good results. Along with some early tomatoes I will get my seedlings in there after they get potted up and then the fun begins!

Best of luck!
