Water Wand for Spider Mites

I recently saw these in a magazine, The Texas Gardener. They claimed that this was a good choice to water blast mites and other unwanted critters. I did a search and went to the web site. The wand has an end that points straight up and delivers a 40 degree cone 8 ft. high.

Has anyone tried one, I gather this is not a new product. I may purchase one and post results later. I am sure the nasty mites will appear sometime this summer.

It seems like a catch 22. Everywhere I read and go it says “Don’t get the leaves wet”, then they say “You supposed foliar feed every so often. The way I look at it every time it rains day or night the leaves are wet. Sounds like it would work creister but twice a week I seem to knock off a baby tomato or a blossom.

TAMU extension tested this particular product with 3 other types, and got a 56% kill/removal rate. Supposedly it is designed to be used for this particular purpose. From what I could gather, the inventor's big hobby was roses. I have also knocked off a few babies. Most organic sprays are supposed to help prevent disease.

Well here my mites thrive in water. It's impossible to treat under every nook in every leaf. I think this water wand deal wouldn't work at all here.

Best mite solution? Greenlacewing larva. Buy a bunch. Release them. Simple. Bye Bye mites.
