First Time Container Grower
This year is my first time attempt at growing a tomato plant in a container, (due to soil disease). I have a Cherokee Purple that is planted in a VERY large container, but it not an Earthbox, just a regular container.
Right now my biggest question is how often to fertilize, and with what. It is planted in a Sta-Green potting soil with moisture crystals, and we also added just a little mushroom compost. So far it's the picture of health and blooming like crazy. It's way ahead of my cherry tomatoes, which are planted in the ground, as they seem to be able to withstand the wilt just fine. So any advice is welcome.

Holly,
I am using the same StaGreen potting mix. Be sure to trowel in 2 cups of Dolomite Lime to prevent blossom end rot. Have fun!! Ray |

Holly,
All Garden stores carry it in the fertilizer section. You can buy it in bulk cheaper, but a 5 lb. size box of fine particle Dolomite Lime costs about $5.00 here in California. Summer Winds is the local place where I buy mine. Ray |
