People starting seeds right now - do you use grow lights?
Sorry about creating another thread, but i feel this is a better quesiton. for those starting seeds around this time for a fall crop, do you still use grow lights once they germinate or do you put them outside for natural sunlight? do you basically use the same growing process as you would if you starting seeds 6-8 weeks before your last frost date?
im in zone 9 and the weather is good right now. 80s during the day. 50s at night |

This time of year I start the seeds outside and let them get all the sun they want! I bring the little seedlings to the screened porch at night to keep critters from trampling them or the possibility of a rain storm storming them to death hehehe. I figure its the same as if I were planting them in the ground!

I kind of do what Kelly does but being 102 heat index today I wonder. Know one thing the strongest ones will make it.

No grow lights here either, I start them outside but I don't have them in full sun because I'm afraid they'll dry out too fast. They get about half day sun.

I started mine under lights but when I get home they will be going on the front porch where they will enjoy morning sun and blistering temperatures. They will go back under lights for a few days after pot up and then back to the porch.
