I planted 10-11 seeds of each I received on Friday. Problem is I went to sleep with heating pad left on. No idea as to how hot it got. Any idea on how hot is too hot for pepper seeds?

We'll find out, I guess. I would suspect that you don't want to get to 95-100 degrees for very long - but the problem would be more once they germinate, with the possibility to dry out quickly.

I wont be starting mine for a couple more weeks yet.....and i am so anxious to see how they grow.

My seeds arrived last week Craig. I can't wait to try them out. I'm planning to plant them in the flowerbeds for decoration. I will let my daughter and brother in law be the guinea pig testers :)

I was trying to be so good and get the pepper seeds going and growing. I only did it that once. I woke up with the thought in my head "OH MY GOSH" and ran out and my husband had already unplugged the heating pad. He said he could not remember what time he did it. SO it must have been on about 2-3 hours

I have not read any posts lately so I missed this one.

Craig, those peppers look absolutely amazing! Are these the ones you started few years back from seeds taken from Black Pearl?

If you are still sending out seeds and if you could send some all that way to Finland, I would love to try some of these. I still have US stamps, so I can send you SASE.

Ok I think the seeds made it through Frying. Tomatoes that were with them are comming up so if they made it I bet the peppers did too. I actually thought I saw some life in them yesterday. Can't wait to peek again to see if it ws just my immagination.:surprised:

Ok, folks - I updated the thread on page 1 with all of the additional assignments. Svalli, could you please PM your mailing address to me? I am going to start my plants in a week or so.

JerryL February 9, 2009 07:55 PM

Received my seed today. Thanks Craig.

I need to wait a few weeks yet before I start them, but I'm getting ready. :panic: :dizzy:

Penny February 11, 2009 08:20 AM

I think i will go ahead and start mine this weekend, or the very early part of next week, at the latest.
Wish me luck.

For those of you waiting, I started mine 3 1/2 weeks ago and germination has been very slow, with about 25 percent up right now. I know peppers are slow sometimes, but I've never had them be this slow before. I realize it is pretty early yet, and I do have a greenhouse so I wasn't worried about "fast" germination, but that isn't what I got.
