Well I wouldn't call that a short grow season then. :) You can start yours end
of Jan or begging of February. That's about when I start mine. This year I'm
growing the chocolate one.

I was looking at some pic from last year and then I remembered I had ripe Ghosts at the Tomato party which was the last Sat. in August, and then the rest ripened in Sept. The plants I started off with last year were late and small, but grew quick. They just seem to take awhile to sprout and grow. Once out, they do well.
Here's pics from today. This is one of my Chocolate ones that I started around March 20th.

This is regular ones that I picked up at the nursery. They were started a bit earlier than my Chocolates I would say.

i started a portion of my crop in my basement in late december- those have full size pods on them now but haven't started to show color.
