Purchased various Okra and cucumber varieties from Sandhill last Winter. Service was top notch. Highly recommend!

Looks fantastic.

The Orange Russians are really staying clean and pretty while the others all have the usual later summer cracking and such. Very impressed.

2lb9oz
From my brother's garden, 2lb9oz OR117. He had some big stumps, too. They came in earlier and were used on BLT, bigger than the bread.

My problem is they get so big they fall off the plant as they blush!

Can someone please try to describe the flavor of Orange Russian 117? Would you say it's more rich & complex or mild & sweet??? I know everyone tastes differently, but hoping to get some idea.
Russian 117 is a staple in my garden. Last year I tried growing OR 117, but disease took it down before it produced. This year I had no OR 117 seeds left, so I went with a different orange variety. Starting to think about next year, and wondering if I need to find some more OR 117 seeds now that grafting has eliminated early plant death due to soil disease. Thanks! |
