Looking really Good Nico.:D The ramallets that I grew this very wet summer have not held :cry:. Will have another go this season coming up
You have to pick them unripe (or half ripe). For example for Pequenito, picked unripe they stored 3-4 months, picked ripe they kept almost the same as any tomato.

I think they are going to be the biggest tomatoes in my garden, Garrote bicolor a giant as always, lietor is a super productive plant of also big tomatoes, chapman several years with it and always very large tomatoes and perhaps which has surprised me the most. It has been Kellogg´s breakfast, it is my second year of cultivation and last year its tomatoes were not that big, this year they are very big tomatoes. Tdoos tomatoes cover half a kilo

Un tomate precioso, no me esperaba que supiera tan bien de sabor, son tomates realmente preciosos, creo que una vez tuve en mi jardín una planta igual o muy parecida que no recuerdo su nombre que no sabian tan bien como mocha splas

Happy to see some of my babies in that list

Paco, glad to hear that you like it.

We do our best, but there is still a lot to do. I'm doing this at my spare time, wich is limited.

I still have to add all the descriptions of the varieties cultivated 2020, but it is almost done. Poquito a poquito (Little by little).

Kind regards

I have an interest in tomatoes from Spain. This year I'm trying Karkiano. Unfortunately I don't know much about this variety yet but I'm trying to get information from someone who has grown this variety in the past.
Is there anyone on this thread who may know about this variety ? I would appreciate any information on Karkiano.

Dan

I don't cultivated this variety.

But here some information.

It is a variety cultivated in The Basque Country. It's also known as Karkizano. Records of the regional seed bank states, it's from the town Elgóibar, in the province of Gipuzkoa.

Weights around 300gr-600gr. Beafsteak type. Mature late, around 155 days.

Your side of Spanish tomatoes is interesting. I also regularly grow a lot of Spanish varieties (I have seeds from Baikal), this year I will grow six new varieties from Nico as well.

Looks like a strong & very healthy plant as do most all of your plants in the pics I've seen. Have you ever grown Karkiano before ?.

Dan

asmx91 February 28, 2021 01:21 PM

NO - I grow it the first time..

Yak54 February 28, 2021 01:29 PM

Thank you very much for sharing your pic of Karkiano. I don't sow my seeds till the first week in April and usually don't get ripe fruit till the first week of August mostly because I don't grow early maturing varieties any longer. But I'm looking forward to growing Karkiano this year.

Dan
