I purchased a packet of PSR-37 from Peters Seed Research
back when they were still in business. All plants were PL.

The RL at mariseeds.com is apparently the result of someone's
error, either in what they grew out and saved seeds from or
in a listing.

The above thread is from my original offer here of those PSR-37 seeds and if you read what I said on the first page and also open the link I provided you'll see that one of the parents of Early Girl, in France, was PL and the selection that Tim Peter's made when developing the OP version of Early Girl is PL.

Which explains why most of you, I didn't go back to read, are getting what you should, which is PL, and the seeds I provided were through an intermediary who got them from Tim Peters himself.

My psr-37 is rl, and folks have pl. Here is my first ripe fruit-its obviously not psr-37. Its possible I mixed it up when I was starting and its also possible that the seed was mixed up. No way to tell.

I hope it's tasty anyway!

My guess is that is Native Sun, not PSR 37. I also figure the "mix-up" happened in New Mexico near a certain Native American community where a particular individual was entrusted by Tim Peters with seeds of both varieties, plus a few others also now unavailable.

I got PSR 37 and others, eg. Native Sun, from Silver, not Carolyn, and there's no way I could tell the leaf form or post a picture now.

Travis

Interesting. I am in New Mexico all the time, where did this event occur?

Sherry-will post the tasting results soon!

Carolyn's seeds were from Silver.

He was supposed to send me four others of Peters but disappeared off of idig, I asked Randel if there was any way of contacting Silver and he said he could e-mail him for me, did so, and asked me a couple of times if Silver ever got back to me, which he didn't.

The PSR-37 seeds that Silver sent me were the same ones that he was distributing to lots of folks at idig.

Michael, not so much an event as Silver lives in NM and had gotten quite a few varieties from Tim Peters and the game plan was for Tim to start up his seed comapany again, with possibly Silver involved, but from what I know it will never happen, for various reasons.

Whatever I have, whether its op or not, is very tasty. Way better tasting than Taxi.

Michael, it's the OP version of Early Girl F1 that Tim Peters, formerly of Peters Seed and Research, developed.

Some are getting PL plants but that reflects back to the parentage of EG F1 in France where a PL ???? was part of the parentage. I'm pretty sure this was all discussed and a link given on the first page.

Whatever, I'm glad you're finding it to be tasty.

Carolyn

But my fruit are yellow, photo above shows my fruit 4 weeks ago-all were yellow/golden, with a small red blotch on the end.

Oh, I forgot about that.

I see Travis commented about it and suggested a mix-up in NM, etc.

Could be. How would I know b/c I took the seeds that Silver sent me and packed them up as requests came in. I only have one open seed source on the table at one time so I doubt it was a mix-up here.:)

travis June 1, 2011 04:36 PM

As I said before, I believe Carolyn's New Mexico source also had a large amount of Native Sun from the same Tim Peters shipment.
