Coffee Grounds for Peppers
 

Any advice on using fresh, used or instant coffee grounds for fertilizing peppers?

Will be growing in bags this year: Jalapeno, Serrano, Tabasco, Manganji, Anaheim and Jimmy Nardello. Seedlings are transplanted and now up 2" - 3" under grow light. Planting early April (hopefully).

I have a few seeds left over and willing to share them for a SASE. First come, first served. PM if you would like some so I can post when gone.

[B]A little bit of N but other than that they are mainly a [/B][B]source of [/B][B]carbon which makes them great for composting whether you put them in a compost pile or put them on the soil and let them compost naturally. Either way they are a source of food for decomposing microorganisms and will help improve the soil over time.

I agree with RayR; using Coffee Grounds in your Composting is one of the best methods for improving your soil. Just put your used coffee grounds "back in the same container and build up a supply outside. Pour in the ground when you are ready. kids love helping, too; Amen!!

I've never used coffee grounds in containers but sprinkling a little on top of the soil would not hurt, but I wouldn't use use coffee grounds for seedlings or work it into the soil.

There was one year when I put uncooked Coffee Grains in my soil because the container of Instant Coffee was Old, from the back of my kitchen cabinet. A year later, I grew the biggest Butternut Quashes you ever saw. Amen!!

But I only recommend using "Used Coffee Grains in Soil with Sand".
