Tiny Blossoms

My tomato plants, all heirlooms, produced tiny blossoms that were not viable through most of our warm, dry July. Flowers that were of normal size yellowed and dropped off the plants. As of August most plants are now producing viable blossoms. Blossoms are setting too. I'm disappointed because I missed a whole month of producing fruit.

Any thoughts as to the cause?

Guy, a search on "Blossom Drop" here at TVille turned up other TVillians from your part of the country that had similiar problems to yours and attributed it to the weather. Temperature and humidity are a big factor in whether they set fruit or not. There are preventative measures you can take to help fruit set such as watering practices, shading, mulching, and vibrating blossums to facilitate polination. Ami
