Italian Flat Leaf Parsley
Hello everyone - hope all is well - quick question:
Is Italian Flat Leaf Parsley a perennial? Thanks, ~ Tom |
Biennial for seed.
May live longer in mild climes? |
Let it grow the second year for seed saving. You only need to keep 1-2 plants for seeds.
We don't use the parsley leaves from the 2 year old plants, the leaves are usually tough and the growth is sparse. We plant fresh seed every year for the harvesting of leaves. |
We have it in the same place every year and dont collect the seed--but they do seem to self sow in this area and we have fresh parsley every year. :D

Parsley is biennial...it dies after setting seed the second year. But it does self-sow easily. I have lots of little plants coming up this year. :-)
|
thanks everyone - mine looks like it never died - I guess we'll see !

I'm almost never without Italian parsley in the garden. About the time last years plants start to go to seed, my new plants are almost ready to cut. Just about perfect timing.
