Dak, I only know what a gentlemen from Louisiana, who starts a lot of figs from cuttings to me. He says to take your cutting from the tree when it is dormant, wrap each cutting in a damp paper towel, place each cutting in a plastic zip lock and and place that in your refrigerator until spring and then plant in a gallon pot with good potting soil. Keep soil moist but not wet. You should see leaves and new growth in 3 to 4 weeks. He said this is the advice he gives people when they ask, but sometimes you can just take a cutting in the spring when your fig tree starts to bud out and stick it in the ground and keep watered and it will grow into a tree.
