Coffee Grounds don't have much fertilizer value themselves.
A little bit of N but other than that they are mainly a source of carbon which makes them great for composting whether you put them in a compost pile or put them on the soil and let them compost naturally. Either way they are a source of food for decomposing microorganisms and will help improve the soil over time.
