Default I'm so nervous ...

Planted my plants last night into the garden:

Todays forcast was cloudy during the day -
and warming up in the afternoon ...
I'm just hoping I hardened them off long enough...
I had them in the shed with a window open for a few days - then I opened the door little by little to give em real light over the course of many days -
then I had them out in full sun and wind for a couple days ...
Sounds about right ?
Hopefully when I get home - they are all still green and alive ???!!!

Chill man. 8) Take a deep breath. You went through more hardening off in one season than I do in two or three.

‘Mator’s are tougher than you think. Remember the pic’s Craig posted of his driveway? Two – three days after pot up – outside. Get tough or die. His, and mine, always get tough.

I’m sure you’re going to have a fine crop of tomatoes this year.

I'm right there with you, Tom.

I've been on pins and needles since I put out the first two on 4/15/06. Why is that you might ask? Last frost last year was 3rd week of May....SCARY!!

Why do I do this to me???

Best of luck

I was fine this morning ... all looked well...
but wasn't sure how long it would take for
"transplant" shock to set in ...
I think this is going to be the longest ride
on the parkway of my life !!!
Fingers crossed ~

I'm going through hardening off nerves too, but I doubt even I am going to kill anything this way (now bugs, disease, and watering mishaps may be another story. Fingers crossed  ). I rushed things with my two potted Silvery Fir Trees and gave them sunburn, but both have healthy new growth so I don't think there's any real harm done.
Close your eyes. Deep breath. Think of your happy place.

Folks, we're talking tomatoes here, and if some of them don't make it this year , grow them next year.

If I worried as much as some of you about hardening off, transplant chick, and on and on, I'd have been a nervous wreck for the last maybe 50 years.

Now that's not to say that some folks think I WAS a nervous wreck from time to time, but it sure as heck had nothing at all to do with tomatoes, or anything else that I grew.

So relax, y'all.

Mine are out hardening, but not in the ground. I thought it was too early yet?

One step at a time.

Go slowly.

Take a deep breath... and PLANT! I will do it, I will do it!

(trying to be brave)

Well everyone ...
all that hard work and helpfull knowledge
these few years has paid off ...
( don't think I have to meantion the countless
numbers of people with GREAT advice;
you guys and gals know who you are ! )

Looks like I was just being
paranoid ( lol , the "drift I got from Carolyn, lol ,
1000% correct !!! ) ;
a couple wilted leaves here and there,
but they all pulled through ...

It was so random though ...
To just decide on a wim , to just do it !!!
No charts, no "weather stressing" , no nothing ...
Pure feel/instinct ...
(only my third year living on
the coast of NJ)
So far its paid off ...

I can say this ...
I'm only growing 1 hybrid this year:
BrandyBoy ;
and it looks like the weakest
( wilting ) of the bunch !

Hybrid schmibrid ( other than production, lol) ...
Gimme those heirlooms for strength !!!

~ Tom

ps.
Now lets move on and get stoked for blossoms !!!
Guy across the street is 1 up one me !!!

what does wind burn look like ?
Does it make the tips of the leaves
brown ?
Of course, it had to be super windy last night
and blow them around a bit ...
