Thanks! I'm so happy to finally be able to start harvesting enough to make a dinner. I started seeds back in February, I've been thinking about this day for a while!
I'm so glad I found this forum. Honestly, I would not have known about any of these varieties if it wasn't for these forums. The taste of these guys is sublime. |

Had my first picking of the season today, mostly Martino's Roma and Mama Leone with a few Kosovo. Only a bit over four pounds total, but enough to make a nice batch of cream of salsa soup with lamb. Yummy!

Your tomatoes look great! I still have about another 10 days before I get any ripe ones here

Hurray! The long awaited payoff! Glad you're finally able to enjoy the beautiful fruits of your labor. Kosovo was one of my favorites last year.

Cream of salsa soup sounds good, TomNJ. I made a pasta salad with sauteed zucchini, garlic, fresh basil, sliced cherry tomatoes & pine nuts. Mmmmm.
FullMoon, you're in Canada? Hope your tomatoes ripen soon! Are you growing outside? Kath, this is my first year growing all of these varieties, I do like how kosovo is coloring up. First time I've ever grown a pink tomato. Last edited by Dak; July 31, 2011 at 01:54 PM. |
