Looks like a modern 8 ounce canning jar with lid ring to me. I have some just like it. Work really well for jelly.

I posted a picture of a pot plant and everyone went bananas and it was deleted. Now you post a picture of your White Lightning and it's OK?

It isn't white lightning I quit drinking that stuff when I was 13 years old.

The jar is empty.
What I am trying to do is conduct an experiment on thinking outside the box.
I'm trying to get people to use their heads.

I'd say it's the difference between having plenty to eat in the winter and starving.

It's what I use to store homemade maple syrup. And also with the lid nailed to a rafter in the basement, makes a handy place to store nails and screws!

It is the depiction of an eight ounce container which has infinite possibilities. Can be used for winter storage of summer fruits, providing a bit of sunshine in the winter gloom. Can be used to store dried mushrooms, baking powder, bean seeds or finishing nails. Can be used to ferment tomato seeds. Can be used to store sourdough starter. Use it as a drinking glass or to hold a bouquet of flowers. You could keep your toothbrush in it. It is a re-usable, re-cyclable bit of history. It is beautiful. I have over 40 dozen of them in various sizes. I still don't know why glass is a liquid though.

Salix, thanks to your extensive list of possibilities, I have decided that the jar represents Hope.
