Seed saving
This is my first year of trying to keep my seed pure. Does this sound right, I tried to do what worked for me after gathering info from the internet. Made sleeves from bridal netting. Put over stem before flowers opened, tied at bottom. Waited for tomatoes to form, removed netting, pinched off remaining flowers, tied string to stem to mark 'pure' tomatoes. Will this work or have I missed something, I still probably have time to try again. Thanks everyone, Joelle

Hi Joelle - it's my first year saving seed as well, so I again can't give a lot of great tips. I've just put my first bags out there to see if I get any fruit in them, so can just hope I have good luck. Sounds like you did -- I've read a lot of posts saying that people have had blossom drop/failure to pollinate in the bags, so I think just getting fruit in there is a good thing. I've read a caution to put the bags on early, since some of the bees and insects that pollinate tomatoes are tiny and will scoot in there before you even think the blossom is open. Hope you get some more expert answers than mine!

Thank you Supergirl for your post. I guess I must being doing it properly, I think I was early enough the buds were still green when I bagged them. Thanks again, Joelle
