I dont know of any commercial tomato growers outside Elgin.
And I have never seen a box of tomatoes with Elgin Texas on it or any surrounding town. I am getting a little tired of HEB taking good products off the shelves here in Bastrop and replacing them with the HEB brand too. Worth |

thanks for the reply, Worth1............
I am going to san antonio next weekend and was thinking of going thru Bastrop/Austin and pick some some fresh homegrown maters but if they are typical store bought I wont waste the gas...... we are shopping more and more at Kroger because of HEB pushing more and more of their private label merchandise...........

Bastrop farmers markets have home grown but they are not open on Sundays I think.
There is one outside town towards Austin (Hwy 71) on the left dont know what the name is but it is about 3 miles out or so in a bunch of trees. I miss Krogers and shop a lot in Austin at Randal's, Central Market and such. Worth |
