Some Pics and - BERrrrr - Baby its cold outside....

Not really as it was 90 yesterday and will remain in the 90's for the next few days.

Was out of town for 10 days and came back to find -
1. The newly installed auto-watering system performed admirably.

2. BER - My 2 Orange Banana's - had some before I left, picked off about 35 tomatoes upon return in various stages of growth that had it. Have at least another 40 without and picked 2 ripe ones.
OB's were my largest plants when I left, surpassed by Goose Creek on return.

Treatment to be performed - None.
Only other plant with BER is Goose Creek - 2 tomatoes.

Thought I would came back to lots of ripe fruit - but alas no. Will be another week or 2 for a big harvest. I blame that partially on my light conditions. I only get 6 hours a day.
Can't complain though - did a head count before I left and had over 140 in various stages of growth.

Question as well - (will post in new thread but ask it here too - the orange/red tomato - need an ID - It was supposed to be a Cherokee Purple, but clearly isn't!
I was thinking my "tomato elf" (4 year old) mixed up my seedlings when they were in potting blocks.
I am not growing anything that would look like it. It is an RL plant. Meaning an errant seed....

The BER should clear out after about 1 month. Your plants in picture #4 look outstanding. Green from bottom to top.

Thanks Raybo! Goose Creek is the 2nd container from the right, now about a foot above the top of the cage. Didn't think I was going to have to go there, but am considering an extension...
The tubs are modified Earthtainer's and once I finish a write up, you will get the 1st look.

Excellent photos James! You have some beautiful looking tomatoes there and surely, I expect in next week or two, so will I. It has been a long slow process to ripening this year, hasn't it? Cool wet Spring followed by brutal heat and drought, I would have thought the opposite.

I've gotten a couple of Vorlon (small ones) and an Earl's Faux (which I LOVED). Today it looks like the bigger Legends are beginning to turn, as are Break O Day. I do have a Sandul Moldovan that is on the counter, I think tonight it will be ripe enough to eat, it looks wonderful in spite of being oddly shaped .

Do you have to mow in between those containers? I have only a few containers, but all are on concrete.

And Raybo's right...my issues with BER seem to have resolved but not before I lost an awful lot of tomatoes (yikes between that and blossom drop, what's a girl to do?)

Definitely a wild and wacky weather year. I thought for sure that I would be picking a lot this week, but alas the wait continues...

I do have to mow between them. The string trimmer fits nicely.
They have been moved a few times, trying to maximize the sun exposure before ending up in their current location. I need to take a tree down to improve my sunlight this fall and will do something to eliminate the grass in this area.
