Short break!
Oh man - it's gorgeous (temp wise) here today. Tomatoes should be happy - maybe the leaves will even uncurl finally? It's in the 80's and nice breeze; cloudy. Don't expect any rain but what a nice break from the 100's. We'll be back into 100-degree temps again by Sunday. So, I'm thinking of taking half day off of work today to get some work done outside while it's not too hot -- and finally get those extra tomatoes planted! If I can do this today while it's cool, I may even go ahead and till an area in the yard to plant these tomatoes in instead of putting them in containers!
Would be nice to have some in-ground toms in addition to all the container toms. |

Enjoy your break, babice! We've got quite a break from our hot droughty conditions, too- an inch of rain overnight and more predicted for today and tonight and the temps are in the 60's with a breeze! I'm taking a break because it just started raining again, but I've been out there all morning wearing a lined windbreaker and socks!
Hope you get some rain, too, and some respite from the heat...it's so draining to work in that. kath |

Yay Kath! Glad to hear you're getting a break too! Good time to do things like catching the toms up on watering and such and letting them cool off for a time. Maybe folks'll start seeing some toms ripening!

YAY!! Kath and I are in the same area.
It's actually feeling kind of cool here today. From yesterday to about an hour ago my rain gauge reads close to 2 " of rainfall. I'm happy you are experiencing cooler temp's. Julia

Woah! That's awesome! Can't say that about us on the rain. But, I'm out there sweatin' it this afternoon and it's only in the 80's! So happy to be able to do some yard cleanup and think about where to plant those extra toms! Not tearing out too many weeds, though, cuz don't want to encourage any erosion since it's still drought conditions out there. Come to think of it, I am going to go put the sprinkler on one of my trees right now!

I'm sure enjoying it, I can actually go outside without feeling like I'm roasting!

Hope y'all are enjoying it. Our forecast is at least 100 degrees over the next three days with 103 tomorrow. At least it's not too humid.

This morning was absolutely beautiful (to me). I went out at 5:30 a.m. with my coffee to check the plants and it was very cool and beginning to drizzle. AMEN! For the past two months it felt like you couldn't "breathe" when you went outdoors. So incredibly hot and humid and no rain in ages. I just stood out there and got rained on and cooled off and it was about the most wonderful feeling; it really made my day!
