If there was one tomato seed left in the world...
what would you want it to be? For me Black From Tula x Mexico Midget F1. I can imagine some lovely and diverse progeny from this combination. In fact, I might have to make this cross just in case. LOL

Anything as close to the original landrace tomato as I could get.
That way we could start all over again. Worth |

Sounds like a good plot for a story.
I would call it The Seed. I would start out with an old wrinkled woman handing over the last tomato seed from her death bed. It would be folded up in a piece of paper to a small child. This small child would have to find a peacfull place to sprout and grow this last tomato plant in a post apocalyptic world. Along the way the child would be taken in by a group of kindly people. In some unseen manner the seed would get wet and sprout in rout. Now we have a tomato plant to carry around in a pot and take care of. Now we all know this seed represents mankinds last chance to make things right on earth and once and for all bannish evil. It needs work and I have an idea. Worth |

The top tasting tomato here for us over the past 2 seasons - Morado, so that would be my choice.
Good script there Worth. Last edited by mcsee; July 28, 2012 at 01:19 AM. Reason: Add text. |

By the way the woman represents a dieing earth and humanity reaching out to the small child for one last chance.
The child and the seed both have to live as the child represents humanity and the seed represents the earth. Obviously the child is a girl. As the tomato plant grows so does the girl, if the girl hurts so does the tomato. The tomato hurts so does the child, both must live. Worth |

This may seem selfish but...
If there were one tomato seed left on earth I would want it to be.... MINE! ALL MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! AH HA HA HA HA HA! (Now who's king of the world?)

That does it, I'm changing Worth's name to Al Gore. Why? Because of the above allegory.

No contest. African Queen is large, pink, mid-season, prolific, and just the perfect match for my taste buds with its old-fashioned sweet zing. I could live long and happy with lots of half inch thick slices that cover the entire slice of bread.
