I prefer Cherokee Green and have grown all three. But for all the reasons that have been discussed here I don't know what you might prefer, so if room is a problem, grow just one or two this upcoming season, best for two, so you can make a direct comparison.

I'm trying Spears Tennessee Green for the first time this summer.

Also keep in mind the dwarfs. Kelly Green and Jade Beauty are just as tasty as Cherokee Green - perhaps sweeter. I am also growing Absinthe and Spears Tennessee Green this season.

There are other GWRipes that I like as well as Cherokee Green but I answered based on the seeds that were in hand.

I was amazed by Malachite Box (Malakhitovaya Shkatulka) last year. It is really prolific, fairly early, and very tasty. It's been invited back into my 2013 garden.

I grew a bunch last year to compare. I am in 5b - so likely not as hot as your garden.... YMMV

Large tomatoes (in order of how much I liked them):
Malakhitovaya Shkatulka - My favourite this year. Outstanding
Absinthe - Outstanding
Grandma Oliver's Green - Outstanding. More yellow/amber than the others.
Evergreen - Outstanding. My favourite of 2011. Prone to cracking in my 2012 garden (not like 2011)
Grub's Mystery Green - Outstanding
Aunt Ruby's German Green - Very good, huge, prolific plant. Needed extra ropes to corral it.
Charlie's Green - Ok but a bit bland when compared to the usual richness of greens.
Cherokee Green - This one rotted on the vine for the most part but was good when picked in time.
Dwarf Emerald Giant - Stuck in a bed with septoria. Not very good. Try again.
Dwarf Jade Beauty - same as above
Ananas Vert - Rotted on the vine. So-so taste.

Cherries:
Green Doctors Frosted - Splits easily in my garden but outstanding taste. Hard to tell when ripe without the squeeze test!
Green Pear - Not prolific but excellent rich taste - one of my favourites. Have to plant twice as many plants to get good production... Only 1 measly tomato made it into the house. I ate the rest before I left the garden!

Small/Others
Chile Verde - Excellent paste tomato for green sauce. mmmmm.... Tastes like candy when cooked down. Strangely "candy pasta" is very good.
Garden Lime - A little different than the usual green taste. Sweet & rich. Great tomato. Very cute!
Lucinda (striped green) - Unusual, beautiful colouring. Very zingy. Excellent.
Lime Green Salad - In the septoria filled bed. Early & decent but died of leaf problems before I could really rate it.

I am a big fan of the GWR tomatoes. Just waiting for a GWR Heart to be released & my garden wishes will be complete!

The reviews are all on my blog, if you are interested. Cheers!

I haven't grown any of the 3 the OP asked about.

I've grown Aunt Ruby's German Green and loved it, and I'm looking forward to trying Captain Lucky this year.

So happy to read about the taste of all these greens. And the huge size that Aunt Ruby's German Green grows. I'll be sure to have extra ROPE!

Ha ha, rope, I'm thinking flimsy twine or something, ha, really nice to know to give her plenty of space. I love this website for all these kinds of insite into my garden space planning.

Oh, I loved the Captain Lucky I tasted in 2012 at the CHOPTAG tasting. Evergreen as well.

But Captain Lucky is notlooked at as a Green when ripe by many b/c of the exterior and interior coloration, which is not found with GWRipes.

Most call it a tri-color:

......and not all that different from Ananas Noir and many other multi-colored ones.

It may not get a mention purely because it's so ubiquitous, but Green Zebra has given a bumper crop of yummy tomatoes during these past couple really hot, dry years in Iowa. The saladette size fruit have a lot more flavor (if a bit tart and citrus) than a lot of the green slicers mentioned above. And it's just a gorgeous plant in the garden, topping off around 4' and staying upright with only a light wire cage (I use one of those orange lacquered ones!).

Aunt Ruby's German Green is a must grow for me each year. Ripens early for me and grows HUGE green slicers.

I grew Malakhitovaya Shkatulka for the first time last year and it is going to return. Big tomatoes that turn a bit olive green when ripe. JUICY! I really liked the flavor but ARGG is still my favorite so far.

I also grew Green Giant this past year. It was good but I didn't like it as much as the two above. Won't make it back.

I am sending your seeds tomorrow for the B&B Boar so let me know if you would like a few of each of these.

This is Tomatoville. You will get your arm twisted to try every green tomato that exists. If you don't know all of them, you are to spend hours online finding them all. If you find them all, you are then encouraged to start breeding new ones.

Dr. Lve Apple
P.S I like Green Giant
