Default Tomatoes harvested today

tomatoes 2-9-2013.jpg

These are my first real harvest coming in. Clockwise from upper left, 2 Cherokee Purples, 2 Indian Stripe PL X Possibly Daniels from Carolyn's 2012 offer, Captain Lucky, 4 of an unknown cherry that was supposed to be a tomato called Flame but the seeds were wrong(still good though),below it is 2 Opal's Homesteads in various stages of ripeness (and they are luscious), 3 Sungold F1s, and 2 Black Princes different ripeness.
THey are really starting to get many ripe ones now.

So far my favorite for taste is Opal's Homestead. Just luscious.

Hi Chis,
I had not germinated any for this grow season as i have room for only 52 plants and had already started all my seedlings for my plant swap (102) varieties, and also needed extras for the 2012 seed offer from Carolyn, which had experimentals in it, so had to grow more of them. I also of course didn't grow nearly close to the whole 102 either.
Both of your 2 crosses will be started in August when my next season starts. I am excited about them, and so I hope that is OK with you. It is too late now, it will be too hot for them to set any fruit until summer is over.

Open faced turkey bacon, tomato and cheddar melts (with purple cherokees) are my absolute favorite lunch. Sooooo gooooood! (But, maybe I'll try a BLT with one of my other tomatoes. LOL)

Excellent!
Is Opal's Homestead a cross from Homestead o something completely different?

Iam not sure of its history. It is determinate, or nearly so,
Most of the fruit are 4 ozs. I got it from blueribbontomatoes.com. I know it isn't the same as Homestead because I remember those from when I was a little girl and they grew them commercially on my grandfather's acreage. Those weren't good at all.

Thanks Ann. They made a killer turkey bacon BLT too.
I think some will be ready for the tasting event too.
