Droopy seedlings
So I left my one month seedlings in the greenhouse 'till 1pm today with the greenhouse all buttoned up. I forgot to open it this morning as temps have been almost 80 in the day here in the Sacramento valley. My peppers were already drooped over. I freaked out when it was over 100 in the greenhouse, immediately removed the tomatoes and soaked them in water. Now 1/2 hour later they're sitting in my shaded garage droopy as ever. Did I over water or is this a late response to the heat after I pulled them from the greenhouse? Help!!!

give them some time. hopefully they will rehydrate and perk up. Greenhouses are as much work as a small infant aren't they need constant supervision.
let us know how it turns out. Karen |

Thanks, I moved them to the shade and they're doing much better.

I try keeping an eye on my tray seedlings daily..once in the morning and before bed. I make certain they are hydrated but not soaked.. it helps using a good brand of seedling mix which is mostly peat.I won't pot them until they have true leaves and will use same seedling mix for potting (not potting soil)I think potting soil is too heavy/hard for small seedlings under 5 inches. I'm guessing the standard 72 seedling tray should allow plenty room to let them grow bigger than 5 inches before transplanting in the bigger cups?
