Surrogate garden at work planted
Got my surrogate garden at work planted out. Due to unsettled weather and last day of frost normally 20 May here in Germany I put plastic sleeves over the plants for protection. This year I'm growing Big Zac, Brandywine, Kasachstan Riese, Mariana's Peace, Mortgage Lifter and Rosa. Normally I grow the larger beefsteaks and give half of them away to the soldiers stationed here. It's a hoot to watch the look on there faces when they take a bite of one as most have never tasted a heirloom tomato let alone seen one.
