Agree with saltmarsh, but would like to add something. Biological diversity is what maintains predator populations high enough to handle pests like that. So make your gardens a diverse habitat. Plant a wide variety of companion plants and cover crops and try an keep something green and growing all year round.

Mole crickets! We have them on the golf course. What amazing little creatures!
