Relaxing in the pool

I siliconed a kitchen sink drain piece into the bottom of the kiddie pool, and then sat it on a pallet. These are dwarf varieties, Rosella Purple & Crimson, Tasmanian Chocolate, and a pepper plant, Mareko Fana. |

I'm disappointed I thought we were going to see you in the pool.

Pardon the possibly dumb question, but is that so you can water the plants from the bottom? Because if the plants just like to cool off in the pool, you wouldn't need that nice shiny drain you so cleverly installed?
I only ask so I can learn. |

Thanks. I will probably get a digital camera soon just to take better tomato pics.
Yeah, it's for bottom watering, especially to add a little fertilizer with the water. I am planning on taking these plants to my grandma for her yard. She can put water in the pool with the hose, then pull the plug to drain it out later, so she doesn't have to carry water. |

Why a kitchen drain not just an overflow hole on the side like Larry Hall's original Kiddie pool design?
