Yay for Barney! If I lived closer to you I would ask about renting him to chase my varmints away . Have you ever heard a groundhog whistle?

Thanks, and another name for the critter, whistle pig. I've had several over the years as pets, and they whistle when they're hungry or need attention.

As a pet? No way! Were they yard pets or did they actually come inside your house? I read that they are actually very neat and tidy animals with separate "rooms" in their burrows that are designated bathrooms. If bunnies can be litter box trained I guess a groundhog could be too?

That's not a surprise. Even skunks can make good pets.
I think I'd draw the line at a badger, though. |
