Wind Shear

High tropical storm Fay winds knocked over a black plastic pipe cage I had around a big tomato plant,
but none of the green tomatoes got knocked off.
I had a pipe driven down to anchor it but apparently not good enough.
We didn't get the monsoon rains as predicted,but my rain barrel is full (60 gals)
3/8 inch of rain on the gauge.
I am sure it was stress on the cucumber plants growing on fence/netting.
We are headed for hurricane season so that is always another worry on top of
everything else.

Glad to hear that you didn't suffer any damage. Fay's winds pretty much left us alone even though we were predicted to get some high gusts, but she dumped 3.5" of rain-yikes! The sun's out again today and everything is looking pretty happy though, so I'm grateful.

Humid now.I told the guy at the greenhouse we need jungle tomatoes.

I had straight sided containers in the garden that had 6 in of water after Fay passed by us. Very damp and humid here.

It is interesting to compare plants in the ground with plants I still have in dishpans.
The ones in the ground are fine,the container plants are distressed from the higher soil temps.
Lower leaves turning yellow and brown,stems with age spots and other colors that aren't green.
