Fruit Set - Whoopee!
I discovered today that I have fruit set on my eggplant. A lovely pale green one on my Thai Long Green and lovely purple Ping Tung.
Now my question is how big to let them get before pulling? I think if I remember correctly, you can pull them just about anytime, until they get too big and woody. I know you want to pull them before they lose their shine. How small is too small though or is there such a thing as too small? It's not that I'm planning on pulling them anytime soon, I just wanted some guidelines to use, since I've never grown eggplant before.

No such think, really, as picking them too small - of course you want to wait until it is worthwhile to cook it! As they start to go overripe, they take on a dull, rather than shiny, appearance - then all colors pretty much go yellow when they are past eating, but perfect for seed saving.
