Default I'm so lucky...

To live in a place that a drive takes us to beautiful mountains, or scenic red rock deserts. The first two photos I took in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The rest of the photos were taken on a scenic drive we did along the Colorado River to Moab, UT and in Arches National Park. We normally take I-80 through Wyoming to Colorado when I go visit my brother, but we decided to take I-70 back which goes through the mountains in Colorado down to the Colorado River. We spent the night in the Grand ★★★★★★★★ area and then took a back way to Moab and went to Arches National Park before heading north to our home. I now have to go on a river rafting trip down the Colorado river before I die.

Take care all,
Tyffanie

I grew up in that area. I really love to see it in the summer. It is not a good place to live in the Winter. Not sure how you got back.... but the Dinosaur National park is very pretty. Beautiful pictures.

Rena, we haven't gone to Colorado through Vernal and Dinosaur National Park yet. We usually take I-80 to Colorado. I-70 added about 2 hours but is so much prettier. We then got home by getting off of I-70 at Green River and going up through Price and Spanish Fork canyons. US 6 is the highway that goes through Price I believe. Where did you grow up? I take it you don't like the snow.

I'll add that the best time to visit Southern Utah is Spring or Fall it was too hot when we were there, and for mountains you don't want to come in the winter unless you like to drive in the snow. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is closed in the Winter. That's a beautiful place to visit too and not as busy as the South Rim.

We always did all of our shopping in Grand ★★★★★★★★. I am from a small town over the mountain pass. It is an ugly stretch of road that gets very hard to cross in the Winter.
I do not like being trapped where I can't go and do and Winters in the mountains of Colorado can be brutal. I know there were years where we did not go to GJ for 6 months. That means no real grocery shopping.. (Did I mention I love good food) lol. I can't stand to eat Elk or deer for that reason, I ate toooo much of it growing up. It is a hard life.
Here is the summer pics from our trip
