Default Another Harvest 7 15 07

Here's what I picked today.

I'm inundated with tomatoes!

Lower left are Radiator Charlie, to the right are Tigerella
and at the top are Brandywine OTV.

I've never had such a year as this one. It's incredible.

Looks like to me that you'd better get the canning jars out. :-)

Mmmmm, that is incredible! How many plants do you have? Mmmm, imagine all the BLTs you can make, and all that home made pasta sauce!

Thanks for sharing!

Hilde - I've 10 plants with one variety of each.

In other words, all of each type in the photos came from a
single plant!

Had BLT's for dinner tonight in fact.

Planning on more sauce making this weekend. Already have a few quarts put up. Gotta stock up for the winter!

QAguy, can you give me a recipe for your sauce? I'm doing my first canning this weekend and would welcome some recipes.

Thanks so much!

When I say sauce, I mean just cooked down tomato juice. Nothing added but some salt. I run them through the juicer
on my Kitchen Aid mixer and apply heat.

Wow! Wow! Wow!

You got all of that in a single day harvest from only TEN plants? That's incredible! I was sure that you had at least 40 plants with a harvest like that! Way to go!

Not exactly Hilde. Those tomatoes didn't come from 10 plants, they came from only 3 plants.

Like I said, it's been an incredible year.

Incredible must be the biggest understatement of the year! Of course you can never have too much of a good thing, can you?
