Sad Sac???
Whatever happened with the Sad Sac project? I was thinking about it the other day as I was walking through my garden. I'm growing Big Zac this year and have lots of big tomatoes on it.

I think the "pressure's off" now that Big Zac is back in production. If the growouts of Sad Sac had distinguished themselves from Big Zac (or someone simply wanted to cut the tether to the seed companies and not have to re-buy every year) then those seeds would still be around.

I was pretty pleased with the two Sad Sac plants I grew last year. Incredible production until frost, nice sized tomatoes and decent flavor as well. I don't remember if I saved seeds, though I probably did. Maybe next year I'll try to find them and see if the next generation keeps up the same qualities. I'd be interested to know if anyone has grown out several successive years yet. I've never grown Big Zac so don't know firsthand how Sad Sac compares.
