Default Birds removed the top of my peppers!

This morning when I checked on my peppers, I saw that the birds had eaten off the top of three of my hot peppers. There are two leaves left on all three. Can they come back? Any ideas how I can scare the birds from eating the top off my other pepper plants? I don't know what birds did this, but there is bird sh*t all around the pepper bed, and there was none last night.

They even took one of my Serrano peppers!

Thanks!

Hilde

A couple of weeks ago something stripped my Serrano of its top and all its leaves, leaving only the stem with some side shoots. I suspect it was a rabbit, but I don't know for sure. Its just now starting to make a comeback.

I didn't know birds at plants like that. I guess you learn something new every day. Well, I feel for you.

The top of one of my pepper plants broke off in a wind storm a couple of weeks ago but new branches are sprouting out now. It'll be later to produce, of course, but I think it'll be fine in the end.

Thanks, guys! I feel better now!

That darn bird ate another one too, a Jaloro that I only had one of (old seeds that didn't germinate)! Oh well. I still have lots, unless of course new four tops vanishes every day... Maybe I should get a shot gun?

Put a tomato cage around it and then drape it with bird netting. Best of luck to you.

This morning I discovered why the bird took the top of four of my peppers plants and a branch of one of my newly planted tomato plants, and ALL the branches of another one. He/she is trying to build a nest in the metal cage which is behind our gas fireplace. I have put a piece of lumber on top of the cage to block the opening. I hope that will be enough discouragement. Sigh.

Just kidding...or am I?
