Peonies
My mother in law gave me a clump of peonies from her yard last weekend, and I'm still looking for a good spot to plant them in my yard. I'm guessing it's probably the wrong time of year for transplanting, b/c hers already have big flower buds. I'm going to give it a shot anyway.
Anyone else grow peonies? Any advice for planting/maintaining them? Jennifer |

No this isn't the best time, but it's better than letting such a pretty plant die. Plant in full sun. they can tolerate a small amount of shade. Peonies are heavy feeders so add alot of organic material. Use fertlizer low in nitrogen but high in phosphorus and potash. Don't plant deep. Eyes should be not deeper than 1 1/2 inches below the soil level.
