Default My best tomatoes from Tomatoville

Four years ago, I became a member of Tomatville. Thanks to friends Tania, Tormato and many others, I could taste many interesting tomatoes. Yesterday I planted tomatoes and I realized that some of the tomatoes, which I got the seeds through Tomatville, really got to my heart. Which are they?

It seems to me you are big fan of heart shaped tomatoes, Vladimir.

I want you to try more Russian varieties in the next season. Gonna prepair a mix of good reliable varieties for you in autumn.

I haven't tried more than one or two on your list, but I now have seeds for many of them thanks to members here, and I hope to try them soon.

I never knew heart shaped tomatoes existed before I joined here. They do much better in my garden than many beefsteaks I've grown.

Great list Vladimir, I've grown all of them except one, and that's Puszsta Kolocz one unless it has another name.
I just checked and here's what I found

http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Puszta_Kolosz

So from Cluj, and I was once sent a great yellow cherry from Cluj

http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Cluj_Yellow_Cherry

I think you meant to say Ludmilla's Pink Heart

And I think your Alice one is probably this one

http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Alice%27s_Egypt

which I've also grown.

I know you'll like many of them, and let me know if your Indian Stripe is RL or PL, it could be either one, just curious.

I got the seeds from Moshou, nice berries, growing well in my conditions and tasting me
Ludmila´s Pink Heart
I only forgot to write that Pink
Alice
I got the seeds from Tormato in MMMM under the name of Alice. I still hold this name.

My favorites I've received via Tomatoville have been these (all grown last year; I'm growing most of them again, this year, and I'm sure I'll grow the one exception again some time, as it was one of my favorites):

* Chapman
* Ron's Carbon Copy
* Medovaya Kaplya
* The tomato that was supposed to be Jim Dandy (tasted kind of like butterscotch)
* The tomato that was supposed to be Ambrosia Red
* George Detsikas Italian Red
* Monroe

I'm excited to see how they do on their second year.

Even though the Hearts are still green, they are beautiful.

Like many here on Tomatoville me like tomatoes in a heart shape. I've grown more than thirty of these big tomatoes, and I loved those ten which tasted the most. I think comparing the taste of tomatoes of different colors is problematic. And so I have this tomatoes rated as follows:
Black- I do not know and I did not grow another black "Heart". Brad's Black Heart tastes good to me.
Orange- Orange Russian 117 (for me one of the best) tastes me far more than Orange Strawberry, which does not even look like "Heart". If I found some other orange, I might have to replace it .
Pink- Mayo delight was my best tomato last year. Kosovo I cultivated three years ago, the plant was bad (I want it on a sauce). Ludmila´s Pink Heart- taste excedent for me. Fresa is not only "Heart", but it is also Spanish, and they are the tomatoes which I mainly grow.
Red- Anna Russian, Kukula´s Portuguese Heart, Alice. I have never compared them and I probably should have a problem that I might omit.
I do not want to grow more than sixteen "Hearts," so if there were some hearts in another color or two-color, I would have to limit some of them. So far I have found no interesting hearts in other colors.
Vladimír
PS.: Karen, I am watching your Karma project with interest
