Can someone help ID this pepper?
A patient gave me a few peppers today that she said were big jim hatch chilis that grew much smaller than normal this year. I didn't think big Jim's were super hot so I took a bite of one. It was the hottest pepper I've ever eaten. I love hot food, including ghost pepper sauce on my chicken wings. This tasted hotter than that, so obviously it's not a big jim. Possibly a hybrid or maybe she mixed up her seeds?

I agree that it looks ghosty like a Red Bhutlah.

Yep Ghost pepper it and habanero my favorite peppers.
I ferment them and make one fantastic hot sauce out of them. When the ferment is done I add lime juice and sugar. |
