Charline, Shah has been extinct for many many years. Will Weaver brought it back from the dead, so to speak, but it wasn't Shah that he sent here and there.

First, a thread from here where Craig ( nctomatoman) describes it from an old catalog he had when it was first introduced:

We later discovered that what Will was distributing based on plant habit, fruit color and size was actually White Potato Leaf.

There's a lot more to say but it gets complicated including White Brandywine, no such thing, being equated with White Mikado, no such thing, being equated with Shah and on and on.

But you should feel comfortable knowing that you aren't growing the original Shah, which disappeared long ago.

And also good to remember that varieties that are said to be white fruited seldom are based on the degree of foliage cover, where grown in terms of UV intensity, and yes, also the genes a variety has. So so called whites can vary in color from ivory to pale yellow to a deeper yellow.

I've grown a lot of so called whites in the past and the one variety that has been consistently closest to white in my zone 5 is the variety White Queen which was introduced in the Earl May seed catlaog in I think 1941, when I was only 2 years old, but I remember it well.

I have not tasted all the blues yet but Amethyst Jewel is very good and the P20 x beauty king even better.

Lithium Sunset is very tasty. Got a 9/10 from me and will be back every year. But its hard to describe the flavor, its almost a mix of every flavor a tomato can have and it lasts long in the mouth.
And ...... it is very productive. I had about 20 of them and there are still ripening fruits all over and flowers everywhere.

Charline, awesome fruits and pictures. The heat wave we had for the last month has been playing havoc with fruit set on my plants. Hopefully that will change.

Ami, heat wave here is still on! but the toms are setting and ripening, not too much problems there. Hope your black Amber is doing well!

here are some of my tomatoes harvested today, it is about a third of the total harvest and its a gift for a friend
