This is a very popular summer salad not only in Bulgaria but in all SE Europe.
I can't imagine grilled meat without shopska salad.
Greek salad is very similar, just replace sunflower oil with olive oil and add some olives.

This kind of salad is a very popular summer dish in Southern-Europe (Balkan Area). People enjoy eating it with the spoon. In my area, we use celery instead of parsley. No olives, but a nice sliced hot pepper

We like Shopskiy (Шопский) salad here in CIS as well.

Greek (Греческий) salad is also very popular.

It is always funny to read how fast Eastern European countries like Bulgaria became Southern Europe after entering EU
We should try this way as well

It's okay, just a culinary joke in passing.
