Default Planting seedlings from true seed

This is not the priority until next spring, but: When growing potatoes from true seed, how deep should I plant the seedlings? As deep as possible, or is there an ideal depth?

Never grew potatoes from true seed before, but will hopefully try next spring
I know the drill with tubers as that is the common way it's done here.
But I love to try the different method.

There are probably different methods to try. See this link for some discussion. I plant 12" apart in rows that are 18" apart. I plant in a 4" deep trench, then hill a month later, and hill at least one more time after that. Tom Wagner always said with TPS seedlings, hill them repeatedly. It is not too much different than with tubers, but the plants are smaller and more fragile, and take longer to get large. Some never get very big.

Thanks, great infor from TW.
Hilling is known practice here in the 'potato country' Finland, where potatoes is the main staple since generations (turnips were the main crop before Columbus sailed to America...), almost all older people my parents' age have grown their own.

I am curious to try some Siberian varieties from seed and see how they grow here.
