Very cool, Dutch.
I knew this about forest ecosystems years ago, but farm ecosystems are evidently just as connected. Fungus is internet.

I guess my toes can communicate with each other ? Seriously there is a professor in Washington state I think who has posts about forest communication and trees exchanging some nutrients or at least radioactive tracers. The link is on my windows XP machine.

Yes, Thank you! I too found it interesting reading. Even without there trials, I would agree in theory to plant communication, just from digging up plants and looking at their root systems.

Thanks Starlight. I don't recall reading that article before. The abstract in the link you provided is of great interest to me. Thyme is something I grow and use regularly in my stir fries. Thanks again!

It seems there are several scientific studies of the use of those plant oils. My dinosaur of computer does not let me go to Facebook, so I couldn't open this abstract up. Maybe you can.

Might be something to look into. Making your own organic essential oils is easy. Wonder if planting Thyme and Peppermint plants around our tomatoes would work.

What do you think about the use of the non-mycorrhizal fungus Geosiphon pyriforme? Are you familiar with this fungi? The only thing I know about G. pyriforme is it is similar to Glomus.

Oh my!!!!! Thanks so much for the warning Dutch. Whew! Glad I didn't fill out any thing on that sign in info page. Guess it is a good thing sometimes to have an old computer and programs. I, and probably like others, saw the edu and thought it was a credited university.

P.S. The information on academia.edu at this time is credible. But a word of caution, academia.edu is a capitol venture and could be sold without warning at anytime. I caution against signing away the rights to your personal information just to view it!

Dutch, I've been working my arse off trying to make raised beds and planting areas. I've been fighting off anxiety by keeping myself busy - no matter what.
