TSWV--can I replant in same Earthbox?
I had to remove a tomato with Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus, it was planted in an Earthbox and my question is, can I replant right away with another tomato after I refresh the lime and fertilizer? I think the answer is yes, as the disease is not soil-borne, but I want to be sure. Another option is to plant eggplants or peppers in that EB now. What say you experts?

Peebee, I'm far from an expert, but this is a section from this site http://vegetablemdonline.ppath.corne...pottedWilt.htm
I don't know how the chart will look like here, but these plants can also be affected by TSWV. Tobacco Tomato Celery Peanut Pepper Bean Potato Cowpea Eggplant Spinach Lettuce Cucumber Endive Cauliflower Last edited by AlittleSalt; June 9, 2018 at 12:58 AM. Reason: Edited to not show HTML |

I do w/o issues. The virus is inside the tissues, vectored by thrips, not by contact. You should be OK.

Yaaaay, thank you guys! I will plant another tomato as soon as I can. I have 2 cuttings standing by as I write, they should be ready soon so 1 will go into the EB, the other in an in-ground bucket with finished and not-quite-finished compost inside.
